Bean Bucket

I’ve seen various types of indoor play activities for little kids.  Set-ups with blocks, ice, rice,  and beans.  Today I decided to try out something simple.  In the bath Little W already likes to fill and pour various size play teacups and pitchers full of water.  So why not try beans?  My one rule: stay in the kitchen.

 

 

 

I used one bag of white beans and one container with a lid.  I found a plastic spoon, a metal tablespoon, a small snack container, a small plastic strainer, and a plastic toy “loaf pan” to use.  She had so much fun collecting her beans with the various tools and then dumping and starting again. She would play around with “Here you go,” “Oh, this is good!” and “Nice!” when she finished whatever project she had started.  But in the end, of course…
